University of Richmond Professional Certificate Program

Students in class Lewis Ginter Botanical GardenExpand your knowledge or explore a new career in the landscape design industry! The Landscape Design Professional Certificate Program focuses on horticulture, nursery and planting standards, and the creative process of landscape design through the University of Richmond's School of Continuing Studies. The Garden partners with the University to offer a rigorous program suited to the needs of working adults. For details, a course schedule, and online registration, visit the program's website. Use our programs to satisfy professional education requirements!

For teachers, the Garden offers professional development and training programs for environmental educators and teachers, including Agriculture in the Classroom workshops and Chesapeake Bay Foundation programs. For information on those programs, email the Children's Garden Program Developer, or visit the Teacher Training page.

For members of the green industry, opportunities include the Winter Symposium presented each February in cooperation with the Central Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association and Virginia Cooperative Extension.
