Tulipa 'Blushing Lady'

Tulipa 'Blushing Lady'

I am very impressed this year with the Tulipa ‘Blushing Lady’ blooming right outside of the library, in the Evelyn G. Luck Garden.  This small, Gillette-inspired garden is at the entrance to the Education and Library Complex building (or ELC as we call it here).  The blushing lady started to bloom about 2 weeks ago, on a very hot day, so I didn’t think it would last long. Today, after a hot spell, a cool spell, heavy rain, more heat, now cool again, it looks almost new. Its continued loveliness inspired me to write about it and recommend it if you are looking for a tall and sturdy tulip.  It has a nice lily shape and is a soft orange and yellow with a blushing rose flame.  Blushing Lady is available from Brent and Becky’s Bulbs,  I don’t normally recommend vendors but since Brent and Becky are neighbors and Garden supporters, why not give them a shout out for this lovely tulip.
Janet Woody is the Garden librarian and in her spare time keeps an eye of interesting blooms all over the Garden.
