This week we harvested 204 lbs. of turnips, zucchini, red potatoes, beets, celery, and cherry tomatoes from the Community Kitchen Garden for FeedMore.
2013 year-to-date produce donated: 1,273 lbs.

Also this week the Lewis Ginter Youth Volunteer Program (YVP), led by the Children’s Garden staff, started working in the Community Kitchen Garden. The teens work in the Community Kitchen Garden on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and this week the YVP helped to harvest potatoes, pruned herbs and weeded.  Stay tuned for another blog post about the wonderful youth we have who are volunteering and participating in this important educational program.
