		<description>The damage to the ginkgo is severe, but this species resists decay quite well. After loose bark is trimmed away, a sealant may be applied.  Even though pruning paint is typically not recommended, on such a huge wound it is difficult to see how experimenting with sealant can worsen this wound.</description>
