Spring Break Garden Adventures

Spend two naturally fun mornings exploring the wonders of nature with the Children’s
Garden educators. Pre-registration required. Click on the program titles for online registration. $62 non-member / $48 member

Forest Fairies and Spring Sprites | Ages 5 – 7
Wednesday & Thursday, April 16 + 17, 9 am – noon

Let’s build a woodland fort and then head out into the forest seeking toadstools,

crystal stones, fairy umbrellas and other natural secrets.

Camp Cuisine | Ages 8 – 12 NEW
Monday & Tuesday, April 14 + 15, 9 am – noon

Gardening, harvesting, cooking and eating is so much fun! Kid-creations include campfire s’mores, root and stone soup, solar-oven pizza, and more!

 

 


Afternoon Adventures

Join Children's Garden staff for exciting opportunities for youth and teens.  Pre-registration is required for all programs and workshops.  Click on the program titles for online registration. 

Garden Quidditch | Ages 8-12 NEW

Tuesday, April 15, 1 - 3 pm

Quidditch clinic and match hosted by members of the VCU Wizengamots and the UR Acromantulas. Broomsticks and robes provided. Meets at Flagler Pavillion.

$23 non-member / $16 member

Mushrooms and Fungi

Fantastic Fungi Workshop | Ages 13-18 NEW

Tuesday, April 15, 1 - 3 pm

Tour the Garden’s mushroom varieties and experience lab experiments. Learn how to identify mushrooms with spore printing techniques, dye fabrics with mushrooms, and assemble a mushroom “log” to take home. All materials provided.

$27 non-member / $16 member

Terraforming a Tiny World Workshop | Ages 13-18 NEW

Wednesday, April 16, 1 - 3 pm

Bring a garden inside! Learn about soil composition, water cycles and filtration, and basic botany while you create an ecosystem. Plant and potting materials, containers, and decorations are provided.

$27 non-member / $16 member
