De-Lighting Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

Dominion GardenFest of Lights features over 500,000 holiday lights, hand-crafted botanical decorations, model trains, holiday dinners, a fire pit with s'mores and hot chocolate.

Dominion GardenFest of Lights is a holiday tradition featuring more than half-a-million lights, hand-crafted botanical decorations, model trains, holiday dinners, a fire pit with s’mores and hot chocolate and nightly family activities.

Ever wonder how we get all those holiday lights up (and then down again) for Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights? Here’s how!  GardenFest Arborists Matt Lee and Thomas Dunlap climb the trees before Dominion GardenFest of Lights carefully stringing trees with thousands of holiday lights. Then, each January, when GardenFest ends, Lee and Dunlap climb the trees again to carefully take them down.  Enjoy this 30-second time-lapse film by Matt Lee. You can also find Matt Lee on Instagram as @Rootsone.
