Williamsburg-based botanical artist Juliet Kirby leads this four-day workshop on painting orchids, which coincides with the Orchids Galore! exhibit in the Conservatory, Feb. 14 - Mar. 31. Participants learn about orchids as plants, and study composition, accuracy, and direction of light. Over the course, students complete one study, using blooming plants they may take home with them after the class ends. Students provide materials: a list of recommended materials is sent after registration. Lunch is on your own each day.

$239 / $195 for members.  4 sessions = 20 hrs.  GES: BI, 20, required.

Botanical artists at all levels are invited to participate in a four day open studio.  Studio facilitators are botanical illustration instructor Hazel Buys and certificate holder Judith Towers.  Botanical specimens are supplied for participants or advanced students may bring their own or request an orchid supplied by Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
