Drawing Fundamentals for Botanical Illustration, II: the Magic of Line, the Language of Tone, and Setting the Stage

Continue to explore line quality and expressiveness as introduced in Part 1. Students build on their study of proportion, perspective, composition, and the use of tone to render form, continuing to develop the basic techniques and knowledge covered in Drawing Fundamentals 1. Students complete one or more drawings of a seasonally-appropriate botanical subject of their choice, practicing the core concepts taught in the class. Accuracy of drawing is emphasized as well as artistic expression.
