Rain Barrel Workshop
Thursday, May 16, 9:00 - 11:00 am
Were your plants parched last summer? EPA estimates that a rain barrel can save gardeners 1,300 gallons of water during hot summer months. Harvesting rain water reduces your water bill and improves the health of nearby creeks, streams and the Chesapeake Bay. During this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to incorporate “Bay-friendly landscaping” practices into existing plans. Assemble your rain barrel and learn how to connect it to your gutter downspout. You’ll leave with rain garden design templates, native plant lists and local sources for Bay-friendly plants and supplies.
$66/ $55 for members. 1 session = 2 hrs. GES: HL, 8, elective.
