Gardening for Butterflies and Other Pollinators NEW
Saturday, July 14, 9 - 11 am
Pollinators are ecologically and economically important creatures. Every third bite of food that we eat is the direct result of a pollinator. With the population of many native pollinators in decline due to disease, habitat loss, and pesticide use, what can the homeowner do? Learn about how to create a pollinator habitat with native plants in your own backyard that is both attractive, eco-friendly, and functional. Lewis Ginter Director of Horticulture Grace Chapman explains the elements needed for successful pollinator garden design and discusses native plants that will provide the proper food and shelter for pollinators.
