Beginning Botanical Illustration in Pen and Ink

The origins and nature of botanical illustration are explored and skills are developed. This course includes some basic botany and exercises to develop needed drawing and observation skills while exploring the history and traditions of botanical art and illustration. Some drawing experience is recommended. Materials are provided. Instructor: Celeste Johnston, certificate holder in botanical art and illustration from the Corcoran College of Art and Design, Washington, DC. Lunch is on your own. $240 / $185 member 5 sessions = 20 hrs. (does not include lunch break). GES: BI, 20, required
