Public Relations and Marketing Director
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Strategic public relations and marketing have helped propel Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden from “Richmond’s Best Kept Secret” to one of the region’s top destinations and national recognition.
Beth Monroe has led these efforts over the past 14 years as the Garden has grown and reached out to engage and attract audiences. She is committed to the Garden’s mission of education and its passion to connect people and plants to improve communities.
As public relations and marketing director, Beth is responsible for media relations, publications, electronic media and advertising. Her efforts result in frequent media stories about the Garden in local outlets as well as national and international coverage.
Her educational background includes a bachelor of arts in communication with an art minor from James Madison University and a master of science in corporate and professional communication from Radford University. She earned her master’s degree while working full-time in Radford’s public affairs office. Also during that time, she took an educational leave of absence for a semester study abroad in Salzburg, Austria.
Beth represents the Garden with membership in the Greater Richmond Tourism Association and is a board member for the Lakeside Business Association. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America Richmond Chapter.
