April 29th!
Silent Art Auction
THIS THURSDAY!
“Cheers to Art!” A toast to the creativity and art of beauty, learning and growth of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and our ever-popular Children’s Garden!
Planning is underway for our inaugural Cheers to Art! event which will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 6:30-9:30pm in the Massey Auditorium and Central Garden. More than 70 extraordinary artworks available by silent auction—coupled with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment—make Cheers to Art! a don’t-miss event!
After 25 years of sowing these acres and inviting the community to enjoy them, our role as a public garden is evolving. Last year, over 42,000 children between the ages of 3 and 12 participated in playful programs in the Children’s
Garden. As this number increases annually, we will need to expand our facilities to welcome them all. Proceeds from Cheers to Art! will benefit the enhancements and future improvements of the Children's Garden, and help support the Garden’s mission to enlighten, inspire, engage and advocate for the improvement of our community.
Hosted by the Garden’s Board of Associates and this year’s co-chairs, Stephen Wesson, Champe Granger and Myrf Bowry, Cheers to Art! is already a budding success with over 300 people expected to attend.
Tickets are $35 in advance (purchase online) or $40 the night of at the door. Tickets include admission to the event, cocktail and hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment and a pass to stroll the gardens - see 'Glorious Glass in the Garden' by Hans Godo Frabel while you're here.
Auction items include modern, abstract and contemporary pieces of art, pottery, jewelry, photography, sculpture and more!
