ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE
KYLE M. EPPS

April-September

As part of its Flourish: 40 Years and Growing anniversary celebration, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden has commissioned contemporary American multi-disciplinary artist Kyle M. Epps as an artist-in-residence from April-September 2024. Epps’ work will explore the landscape and history of the Garden through a variety of mediums. Guests will be able to view the artwork in the Garden’s Community Art Gallery and Epps will also lead workshops.

THE
BIG BLOOM

Friday, April 12

Celebrate spring at The Big Bloom, a festive garden party on Friday, April 12. The adults-only (21+) event includes NYC-based DJ Illexxandra, fire performers, visual projection art, roaming entertainers and more. Food and drink are available for purchase.

SPRING PLANT SALE

May 3 & 4

More than 40 vendors selling plants ranging from well-known favorites to rare exotics and other garden-related items. Presented by Garden volunteers.

CENTRAL VIRGINIA IRIS SOCIETY
SHOW & SALE

The sale will take place from 10 AM – 4 PM in Robins Visitors Center Atrium, and the show will be from 12 – 4 PM in the Robins Room.

Listen to a diverse mix of live music throughout the season, featuring local and regional acts. The second and fourth Thursdays of each month are Fidos After 5 nights when leashed dogs are allowed. Please see schedule; there are some nights when we don’t have Flowers After 5 due to Groovin’ in the Garden concerts (Groovin’ concerts are special, ticketed events).

GROOVIN’ IN THE GARDEN
CARBON LEAF

  • Purchase tickets online (only GA Admission Lawn Tickets are still available; Premium Lawn and Gold Circle are sold out)
  • Tickets for Carbon Leaf are $38 for General Admission Lawn; $50 for Premium Lawn; $68 for Gold Circle (plus taxes and fees)
  • Gates open at 6 p.m.; concert begins at 7 p.m.
  • Gold Circle tickets are directly in front of the stage and include a seat; Gold Circle and Premium Lawn tickets come with access to the Tea House, which includes a private bar and restrooms.
  • Physical tickets will also be on sale at Plan 9 Records.
  • Tickets are not available for purchase at the Garden.
  • This concert is presented by Broadberry Entertainment Group; the Garden is unable to view or modify ticket orders.

Family Fun

Looking for fun activities for families? You’ll find them in the Children’s Garden. Explore the Klaus Family Tree House for a birds-eye view;  visit the Carriage House to draw with sidewalk chalk, hula hoop, and build with blocks; climb a 100-year-old mulberry tree and much, much more. Check out Story Time on Fridays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. outside in front of the Kelly Education Center (rain location: inside the Lora M. Robins Library). Included in regular Garden admission; free for members.
