SUMMARY:The Heirloom Gardener - Traditional Plants and Skills
DESCRIPTION:The Heirloom Gardener – Traditional Plants and Skills draws from John Forti’s new book on how to integrate traditional plants and skills into the modern world. Richly illustrated with period images and contemporary woodcuts\, his presentation shares inspiration from our long history of heirloom preservation\, garden craft and homestead lifeways. Artisanal gardening lifestyles can help us to rebuild vibrant local agricultural economies and celebrate sustainable cottage industries to support our new\, homegrown American arts & crafts movement and backyard environmentalism. At a time when we could all use a little good news\, join us for a refreshing look at how you can make a difference and build habitat in your own backyard and community. \nOnline webinar conducted via Zoom.  \nThis class is cancelled.

SUMMARY:More Alcohol Inks
DESCRIPTION:Alcohol inks are a relatively new fascination of painters and crafters. A vibrant\, fast drying medium they are used to paint on non-porous surfaces such as glass\, tile\, or metal. The possibilities for experimentation are limitless. Experience the almost instant magic of these inks on tile. Using florals as inspiration\, participants will create colorful\, abstracted tiles. Painting expertise or even any experience at all is not necessary. Designed to be a creative adventure\, this class is for everyone. If you took this class last year\, consider joining this one: techniques will be reviewed but subject matter will be different\, and\, of course\, no two tiles are ever the same! All materials are supplied and completed tiles will be yours to take.
