SUMMARY:Butterflies LIVE!
DESCRIPTION:Please note: We will not have our Butterflies LIVE! exhibit in 2024 and 2025 while we expand the Conservatory to include a permanent butterfly house. Learn more about the Garden’s expansion project.\n\n\n\nIncluded with Garden admission; open 9 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.\nLearn more about visiting M&T Bank Butterflies LIVE! \n \nExperience the wonderful world of butterflies! Tropical and native beauties\, fascinating and showy\, transform the Conservatory’s North Wing into a wonderland of vibrant colors…captivating sights…and extraordinary discoveries. Every butterfly is different\, as is every visit! Due to an earlier closing time\, please note the last group of visitors will be admitted to Butterflies LIVE! at 4:15 p.m.\n \nTop 5 Things to Know Before You Visit\nButterflies LIVE! is an exhibit inside the North Wing of the Conservatory and is geared for all ages. The environment is warm and humid. Our tropical butterflies love the heat\, but for the safety of our guests and staff\, if temperatures inside the display reach a heat index of 115\, the exhibit will close and reopen once safe to do so. Consider visiting earlier in the day to avoid disappointment.\nButterflies tend to be most active on clear\, sunny days. On cloudy days\, they tend to roost\, which can be good for taking close-up photos. You may want to plan your visit accordingly.\nLarge bags are discouraged in the exhibit. Since many of the butterflies are tropical species\, they must remain in the exhibit. At the same time\, butterflies like to hitchhike! For that reason\, large objects such as backpacks\, oversized totes and pocketbooks are discouraged inside the exhibit. There is a place to leave belongings inside the staffed entry\, however\, the Garden is not responsible for them. For the same reason\, strollers are discouraged inside the exhibit. There is a place to park strollers in front of the Conservatory. Wheelchairs are permitted. \nNew Butterflies Daily!\nEach day we release new butterflies into the exhibit. You may even see newly emerged butterflies take their first flight! Look for information on our newest flying friends as you enter the exhibit. We’ll highlight which butterflies are new to the exhibit\, their country of origin\, their photo and other neat facts. Meet the butterflies! Check out special displays inside the exhibit\, including the Butterfly Nursery where you can view different stages of the butterfly lifecycle and also interesting moths. \nThe Reason Behind Butterflies LIVE!  \nLewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a nonprofit garden. Our mission is education and our passion is bringing people and plants together to improve communities. SUMMARY:Em White | Sundown
DESCRIPTION:Included with regular Garden admission\, free for members. \n \nLewis Ginter Botanical Garden Photography Exhibition \nEm White is an American photographer and visual artist specializing in vintage photographic processes and large-format work. Raised in rural Virginia\, much of her work emphasizes personal relationships to land and the ways in which environment informs the emotional self. Drawing on her background in sociology\, White examines how natural environments function as community spaces and the ways that they can connect and transform. Primarily self-taught\, White’s approach to photography has been shaped by personal experimentation and opportunities to learn from established artists. She works with analog processes\, valuing the ability to produce by hand for the slow movement they require and the present state of mind they demand.

The essential care of being aware of Mother Earth\, the magic of flowers and plants producing energy for us to breath! Let’s remember our magical gift\, take care of animals and plants like they are our best friends\, help bugs thrive\, consume less gasoline\, do not waste water\, eat healthily and exercise\, always recycle and enjoy the world around you! \nLatin Ballet’s MAGIC will be enhanced with live music by Cuban artist\, Yohan Manuel.
