SUMMARY:Medicinal Plants: Traditions\, Topicals\, & Teas
DESCRIPTION:Plants have been used as medicine for thousands of years\, and in this course\, we honor the traditions from countries all around the world. Participants will compile 5 tea bags with the provided herbs and plant parts of their choosing for a variety of ailments. Clara will provide multiple materials for reference throughout the activities\, including a handout with a basic list of which parts of different plants contain medicinal compounds (ie. flower\, root\, leaf\, fruit\, etc). Each participant will learn to make and practice making a poultice with a partner before the class takes a walk through the Garden to look at medicinal plants. DISCLAIMER: Clara is not a medical professional who can provide medical advice. Please consult a doctor with any medical questions. \nFees: Member $53\, Non-Member $64 \nAll programs are subject to change. SUMMARY:GARDEN ENTRANCE/GLEN STREAM TOUR-OCT
DESCRIPTION:Join Garden Guide Lorrie Lincoln for a tour of the area around the parking lots\, the Garden entrance and a walk through the Glen Stream. With completion of the restoration done over 3 years ago\, come see how things are progressing via our newly-created pathway. Please wear appropriate shoes as the path can be uneven and muddy at times. \nFees: Member $0\, Non-Members pay regular Garden admission. \nALL TOURS ARE NOW OFFERED AS DROP-IN ONLY AND DO NOT REQUIRE REGISTRATION.
