SUMMARY:Pollinator Power Symposium
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT: Due to ongoing power outages\, the Garden is closed and the in person portion of this program is CANCELLED. In person registrants will receive a link to the virtual portions of today’s program and we will refund the difference between the in person and online registration.  See the revised agenda\, below.  \n  \nPollinators play a crucial role in ecological survival. In the morning\, learn about three indicator species–species that indicate the health of an environment. After lunch (included with in person registration) engage in breakout sessions on resources available locally\, then finish with a bringing-it-all back home final keynote. \nThis is a hybrid program.\nPresentations and participation are in person or online via Zoom. \nVirtual Ticket: $30 (includes all virtual talks) \nCEUS \nChesapeake Bay Landscape Professionals\nOnline: 3 CEUs \nCertified Virginia Horticulturists\nOnline: 3 CEUs \nISA\nOnline only: 1 each: Certified Arborist\, Municipal Specialist\, BCMA Management\, Climber Specialist\, Aerial Lift Specialist \nMaster Gardeners and Master Naturalists\nOnline: 4 hours\, self-report \n

SUMMARY:Herbalism 101: Plant Identification
DESCRIPTION:Practice and empower yourself with the knowledge of wild plant identification. The ability to key and ID a plant before you ingest or harness its medicine is crucial. This workshop will discuss sure fire ways to ensure that you have the right plant before you begin as well as basic wildcrafting essentials. \nOur Garden continues to follow CDC recommendations and state guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19. Properly worn masks are strongly encouraged for indoor class participants regardless of vaccination status. The Garden reserves the right to implement additional safety measures. Any updates will be communicated prior to class\, if possible. \nAll programs are subject to change.
