This class is inspired by the post-revolutionary era where an increase in poverty prompted a cultural shift that elevated traditional staples such as corn\, beans\, and chiles into symbols of national identity. In the mid-to-late 1800s\, French traditions dominated the culinary landscape due in large part to the reign of Maximiliano and Carlota. Contemporary Mexican cuisine is a rich fusion born of historical evolution; ultimately\, French\, Spanish\, and indigenous flavors morphed together to create the “Mexican food” we love today. \nFollowing the discussion\, join Chef Danny for an elevated and delicious four-course dinner with paired cocktails\, wine and coffee. SUMMARY:Fall Florals in the Victorian Style
DESCRIPTION:Victorian florals were often full\, lush\, and created with materials from their gardens. Grace Arents (1848 – 1926) loved gardening\, and left her property to be a botanical garden in memory of her uncle\, Lewis Ginter. As a tribute to Grace\, we remember the centennial anniversary of her passing with beautiful arrangements made from garden and florist materials. Bring a water-tight urn or compote (at least 3” deep) for your arrangement. To stay authentic to the time period\, we will not be using floral foam for our arrangements. SUMMARY:Something Real I Can Touch
DESCRIPTION:Nevada Tribble is an interdisciplinary fiber artist who finds inspiration by seeking solace in nature. Her work is a sensory experience of color and texture\, often featuring layered combinations of weaving\, sewing\, and handmade paper. \nNevada lives in Elkins\, West Virginia\, where the beauty and biodiversity of the Appalachian mountain landscape provide plenty of inspiration and fuel for her creativity. She exhibits her work regularly in galleries throughout the region and has received recognition and grant funding for several projects\, including public art in her hometown. Nevada completed her BFA at Shepherd University in 2020 and completed a WV Folklife Apprenticeship with master weaver Margaret Bruning in 2025. \nNevada teaches workshops on weaving\, fiber arts\, papermaking\, and more throughout the region\, for both youth and adults. Nevada’s work has been published in the national publication Fiber Art Now\, and she was awarded an Emerging Artist Fellowship from the WV Creative Network in 2020.

DESCRIPTION:This exhibit is inspired by individuals with color vision deficiencies. Seeing Color explores the relationships between colors and textures. This series offers an exploratory experience for all\, with a focus on people who live with colorblindness. Color plays a significant role in the natural world signaling change\, providing protection\, and evoking attraction. Curiosity arises when we contemplate infinite personal experiences of being in nature. We can observe the same specimen and see it differently. Beneath the surface of these works\, viewers are presented with an opportunity to consider how they see color while sitting with the fact that not all color is seen equally. What we see is unique to our physical abilities\, involuntary bodily functions\, perception\, and our combined senses. While we are connected by our shared habitats\, how they are experienced and perceived is individual. Please take a moment to experience Beth Anne Booth’s inspired artwork in the Robin’s Visitor Center Gallery this October.

While autumn is often associated with garden cleanup\, fall pruning\, when done correctly\, can significantly improve the health and vitality of your plants come spring. In this class\, we’ll delve into the why\, when\, and how of fall pruning to ensure your garden thrives year-round. Explore the Garden and participate in hands-on pruning demonstrations with Jayton. \nFees: Member $27\, Non-Member $34 \nAll programs are subject to change. From the delicate blossoms of spring and the lush\, vibrant greenery of summer to the rich\, fiery hues of autumn and the quiet\, frosted elegance of winter\, each visit offers a completely new perspective. Discover how the garden transforms throughout the year\, revealing unique colors\, textures\, and scents with every season. Whether it’s your first visit or a returning favorite\, there is always something new to see\, making each tour a fresh and unforgettable experience. This tour is offered monthly except December\, January\, July and August. Come dressed for the weather and touring the Garden. \nALL TOURS ARE NOW OFFERED AS DROP-IN ONLY AND DO NOT REQUIRE REGISTRATION.
