Join Margaret Saylor for a two-day painting fungi workshop to examine different types of fungi and mushrooms\, then sketch\, compose\, and build a unique and accurate painting. Include secondary elements such as spiky grasses\, brittle leaves\, or satiny acorns to add interest to the composition while informing the viewer about the habitat of the selected mushroom. Concepts are taught through demonstrations and individual instruction. Students should have solid knowledge of botanical art and materials.

Learn and be supported in the development of a mindfulness practice\, utilizing the modality as a tool for stress management\, self awareness\, and self efficacy. Students are encouraged to transform their minds and bodies with intentional focus\, utilizing mindfulness in everyday life both as a complementary healing modality and as a meditation practice. \nMindfulness recognizes the potential of human beings to self-regulate while optimizing their physical\, emotional and spiritual health. It is the ability to have non-judgmental awareness of events as they unfold moment by moment. Mindfulness is a fundamental and ancient component of many Eastern and Western spiritual traditions.
