Regular Garden admission: $12 adults; $11 seniors; $8 children ages 3 - 12; free for children under age 3 and free admission for Garden Members. Planning to visit the Garden more than once or twice this year? Membership can save you money.

Kick back and relax at the Garden on Thursday evenings this summer! Stroll through the gardens; enjoy wine, music, dining al fresco and shopping. The location for this event is outside of the Historic Bloemendaal House.

Fidos After 5 is the second Thursday of each month (June 12, July 10, August 14) when leashed pets are invited as well. $2 suggested pet admission benefits the Richmond SPCA.
 

  • Flowers After 5 is rain or shine; in case of extreme inclement weather, activities will be moved inside.
  • The Garden's in-house caterer, Meriwether Godsey, offers wine by the glass and by the bottle, specialty beers, and food for purchase at the event site.
  • The Garden Shop is open until 7pm. 
  • The Conservatory is open, but the Butterflies LIVE! wing is closed as butterflies tend to roost in the evenings. Come back and visit them during the day when they are more active!
  • Water Play is open until 8pm.
  • Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the Garden.  Learn more in our Garden Guidelines.
  • Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets.  

WINE, BEER & FOOD AT THE BLOEMENDAAL HOUSE: 5 - 8 P.M.

Wine and beer: For those 21 years and older; ID required. Wine will be sold by the glass ($6) and the bottle ($20). A selection of beers will also be available for purchase.

Food: Available for purchase under the Bloemendaal House tent. Guests may eat "al fresco" at tables or on blankets provided by Meriwether Godsey (limited number of blankets available; first-come, first-served.) Menu & Pricing: Cheese and Fruit Plate $7.00, Hummus & Vegetable Plate $6.00, Vintner Salad $6.00, Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad $6.00, Hot dog / Chips / Cookie $5.00, Chicken tenders /Chips / Cookie $5.00. We also have weekly specials!

SCHEDULE

June 5: Emme St. James and Her Jazz Gentlemen will perform an elegant blend of sophisticated jazz and cabaret standards reminiscent of days gone by

June 12: VCU Jazz featuring The Garcia Jazz Trio, with Antonio Garcia (trombone, vocals, percussion), John Conley (guitar), Brian Sulser (bass), and featuring special guest Mary Hermann Garcia (vocals).

June 19: Exebelle and the Rusted Cavalcade take inspiration from Virginia's folk tradition as well as the rural country-rock of Ryan Adams, the Band and Neil Young (allmusic.com).

June 26: Ban Caribe is an exciting blend of Afro-Cuban, Latin, Caribbean and Soulful Rhythm and Blues, all held together with pulsating percussion. The musical compositions and arrangements are spiritually inspired by the rhythmic beats and chants of African music. 

July 3: The Company Store: Come meet the staff, four folks who know how to stoke the stove with quality music and family fun. Featuring their own Store-brand of string-band music, they fan the flames of pickin’, n’ singin’, with humor and enthusiasm. Featuring Paul Muller, Store proprietor - fiddle, Marianne Lampert - guitar, "Sheriff" Doug Shackelford - banjo and Don "Doc" Golladay - bass 

July 10: The Original Elbe-Musikanten German Band will play the traditional style of German, Austrian, Czech and Slovak music such as polkas, marches, waltzes as well as other favorites

July 17: Bruce Ewan, an internationally acclaimed blues harmonica player and vocalist from Washington, DC, has been called “a harmonica wizard” by The Washington Post. He has just returned from a concert tour of South Africa as one of the only US blues artists to have performed in that country. Guitarist Steve Jacobs spent 20 years as noted harmonica player Carey Bell’s (Alligator Records artist) bandleader and lead guitarist and played bass in the jump blues band Powerhouse during the 1970’s. Bassist Steve Shaw has performed for over 40 years with a wide variety of artists from Bobby Radcliff to the Uptown Rhythm Kings. Drummer Bob Berberich has been a legendary figure in the Washington, DC music circles since the 1960’s when he played with Nils Lofgrin & Grin, the Hangman, The Rosslyn Mountain Boys and the Dynettes.

July 24: The Flying Sulsers’ music is energetic and infectious, a raucous mix of Swing and Country peppered with strains of Hillbilly and Bluegrass. Led by Doghouse Bassist Brian Sulser, he is joined by the lovely Aimee Sulser on vocals, and featuring the amusing stylings of guitar phenom Marty Flipman.

July 31: Loversville celebrates the golden years of real country music – the 50s and 60s.  Come enjoy the traditional twang of Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, George Jones and Patsy Cline!  Featuring Cassandra Cossitt, vocals, guitar; Mike Tighe, pedal steel, fiddle; John Hanor, bass; David Stover, drums.

August 7The Roger Pouncey Trio, featuring Roger Pouncey (guitar), Jordan Mason (bass), and CJ Alicea (drums).

August 14: Sandbar with their soft guitars, mellow vocals and the tropical ambience of the steel pan will fill the air with Caribbean Country. Featuring Gary Snead, Ron McCarthy and Janet Reiner

August 21:  The Chris Ryan Trio, featuring Chris Ryan (guitar), Brian Mahne (keyboard), and Scott Clark (drums).

August 28: The Hot Seats Shortband, with Josh Bearman on mandolin and banjo, Ed Brogan on guitar, and Ben Belcher on banjo and fiddle
