About the Richmond Horticultural Association

RHA LogoEstablished in 1952, the Richmond Horticultural Association (RHA) has grown and flourished from a small group interested in nature that met in a barn at Maymont Park. Around 1982, Richmond Horticultural Association members joined with other interested citizens and played a significant part in the establishment of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. With this dream well on its way, the Richmond Horticultural Association continues to support the Garden with financial and volunteer assistance.

The objective of the Richmond Horticultural Association is to stimulate the knowledge of horticulture and to create an interest in the conservation of natural resources.

RHA’s membership includes new gardeners, retired gardeners and Master Gardeners. Some members belong to garden clubs and other specialized plant societies (e.g., rose, iris, daylily, daffodil). Some have large gardens and others have a few pots on windowsills. RHA is a community that allows our members to share their love of plants and nature with others.

For any inquiries about the RHA, membership or information, please contact [email protected] and view Richmond Horticulture Association on Facebook.
