Pam Ash
Director of Human Resources
Pam Ash has accumulated extensive expertise in every facet of Human Resources. Since 2025, she has applied that experience, skill, and enthusiasm to the Garden in her role as the Director of Human Resources (HR). In her capacity as the Director of HR, she is tasked with steering the Garden’s people strategy and nurturing a dynamic culture that emphasizes the Garden’s core values of innovation, hospitality, inspiration, integrity, and responsibility.
Pam is a highly skilled human resources consultant and leader, boasting over 20 years of extensive experience in strategic HR leadership, change management, culture leadership, and project management across a variety of industries. She has successfully enhanced human capital value for startups, Global 500 companies, and non-profit organizations.
Before her tenure at the Garden, she centralized CoStar’s employee relations by implementing a completely overhauled employee relations model for both the US and Canada, which included the design of an employee relations information system platform.
Prior to her role at CoStar, Pam served as an internal consultant at Dominion Energy, where she provided guidance to business and HR leaders on compensation, workforce planning, and operational learning initiatives in both field and corporate roles.
Additionally, Pam dedicated 11 years to the University of Richmond, where she founded an HR consulting practice, promoted diversity and inclusion in hiring practices, and executed essential transformations to realign HR strategy and services in support of the University’s commitment to education, community, and the pursuit of knowledge.
Pam has also held various consultant, leadership, and project management positions with Wachovia and other organizations, where she led teams and provided strategic HR advice to numerous businesses.
Pam is a motivational and accomplished change agent. Her efforts have resulted in enhancements in employee engagement, process design, DEI development, comprehensive training programs, and facilitated smooth technology implementations.
Pam possesses an MBA in International Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in German from Dickinson College. She was raised in the Richmond area and recalls the opening of the Garden. Having lived overseas in the past, she maintains a passion for travel and exploration.
