Ann Lee’s Meadow unfurls in front of you as you exit the Conservatory onto the Sunset Terrace. With Wick Lake in the distance, in between you will see the meadow filled with color and vibrancy. Designed by Phyto Studios, it is in the shape of a butterfly in celebration of the permanent butterfly house exhibit. Phyto Studios is a nature-based design studio focusing on the intersection of landscape architecture and ecological planting.

Visitors can enjoy the meadow as they take a leisturely stroll through the Parterre Path through Ann Lee’s Meadow. The parterre garden, an often formal and symmetrical garden intended to be viewed from above, was notably utilized in early French Garden design. Here, it is innovatively used  with informal meadow plantings, highlighting the human relationship with nature.
