Father’s Day Weekend in Richmond, VA
Treat dad to a day at one of the best botanical gardens in the United States! Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a straight drive down I-95, only about two hours from the D.C.-area. The Garden is minutes off Exit 83B, just north of Richmond, Virginia. Dads and other caregivers deserve more than one day to feel special! That’s why we’ve created a whole weekend of fun and relaxation with live music and a cookout, plus crafts with dad. Garden admission also includes Wild Art: A Journey Off-Canvas and our Butterflies LIVE! exhibit.
Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Activities in the Children’s Garden; Blankets and a basket of books will also be available under the Darlington Oak in the Grace Arents Garden for guests to stretch out, read and enjoy time together. Scroll down for more Father’s Day activities.

Sunday Only: Enjoy live music from the Jangling Reinharts at historic Bloemendaal House from noon – 3 p.m. A buffet-style cookout will also be served on the lawn at Bloemendaal House from noon – 3 p.m. (for purchase). Also see a boat display

Experience the wonderful world of butterflies with Dad! Tropical beauties– fascinating and showy– transform the Conservatory’s North Wing into a wonderland of vibrant colors, captivating sights and extraordinary discoveries. The exhibit is ever-changing, so every time you visit, you’re likely to see something new. Butterflies LIVE! is an indoor exhibit filled with fun family activities for all ages. Get up close and personal as hundreds of tropical butterflies feed, flutter and take flight all around you.
