Gail Goodrich HarwoodABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

A life-long art enthusiast, Gail Goodrich Harwood has focused on botanical art for the last 15 years. After completing a one-day class at LGBG in 2009 with Lara Call Gastinger, she was “hooked.” Gail completed her LGBG Certificate in Botanical Illustration, followed by a year-long colored pencil course with Wendy Hollender. She has since studied further with Wendy and her team and with Ann Swan in the U.K. She has also studied watercolor and pen and ink with other world-class botanical artists. Gail has served as President of the Botanical Art Society of the National Capital Region, as board member and officer of the American Society of Botanical Artists and was a founding member of the Central Virginia Botanical Artists, an ASBA Circle. She has exhibited art widely across the mid-Atlantic in both juried and individual shows. Her line drawing was selected for the National Cathedral’s coloring book. Gail also serves as editor of the quarterly publication of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs and is a floral designer for the VMFA’s Fine Arts and Flowers event.
