EDIBLE HISTORY:
Exotic and Decadent Chocolate and Vanilla

Continue the Valentine’s Day celebration with plant expert and foodie Mark Ragland as he explores the exciting and exotic history of chocolate and vanilla. Learn about the plants behind these delicious and decadent ingredients as well as how to incorporate them into delectable savory and sweet treats. Enjoy the nuances of how cacao and vanilla can be used to enhance your dishes as you enjoy a delectable buffet lunch showcasing these fabulous ingredients.

Fee includes presentation with Mark, buffet lunch, all taxes, fees and gratuity.

About the instructor

Mark Ragland is past chairman of the Virginia Commonwealth Unit of the Herb Society of America, an avid photographer, lifelong traveler and self-proclaimed foodie. Gardening since age 12, the gardens at his home in southern Virginia were featured on PBS and in Country Gardens. He presents regularly across Virginia on such topics as herbs, vegetables, garden design, photography and tea.
