Photographing the Winter Garden
in Transition
If you have never photographed this garden at the end of winter, this is your chance. Instructor Barbara Ellison guides you through the garden, examining the unusual plant forms – some in their dormant state and others are starting to emerge. Create images using the lines and curves of the plants to accentuate movement and flow while recording the contrast of the two seasons. Convert your files to black and white, and select an image to “put the color back in” through the use of pastel pencils. This class includes a critique of your images and discussion how they could be best presented in the printed form.
