Rooted at the Garden
EXPLORING YOGA'S STANDING POSTURES

Rooting, or grounding, is an important tenant of yoga practice, especially in the standing postures. What better place to do that than at the Garden! Please join Iffet Davis, E-RYT for a special yoga class where we’ll explore drawing energy from the earth to strengthen our legs and core, and then allow ourselves to “melt” into some deeply satisfying, relaxing stretches. Please bring your yoga mat, water, and any props to make yourself comfortable. Class will take place in the Garden or inside Garden buildings, depending on weather.

All programs are subject to change.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden strives to be a Garden for all and we are committed to offering diverse adult learning opportunities that are inclusive and accessible to all learners. If you would like to request an accommodation to support your participation in an adult learning opportunity at the Garden, please contact [email protected] or call 804-262-9887 x328 and we will make our best effort to help.

Iffet Aranti-DavisAbout the Instructor

Iffet Aranti-Davis (ERYT-200) has been sharing the gift of yoga with hundreds of participants in the Richmond area for the past 15 years as an instructor, speaker, teacher trainer and coach. Her easygoing and accessible teaching style has been key to presenting the teachings of Yoga in a modern way. Trained as a classical musician at The Julliard School, Iffet began her musical career with the Richmond Symphony but health issues related to performance led her to embrace yoga as a practice toward a healthier lifestyle. She is a certified trainer for yoga instructors and many of her own students now have their own yoga studios and training programs. But more than that, so many have been opened up to reaching their potential and striving for more!
