Selecting the right house plant for the right location can make all the difference for its long-term care and success. We will discuss it all — lighting requirements, potting soil type, containers, fertilization, and care routine for your specific plant — leaving everyone feeling like an indoor plant expert.

Jayton HowardAbout the Instructor

Jayton Howard grew up in Oregon working at his mother’s flower shop. He had the privilege of studying horticulture in Australia, where he also managed a garden shop for 5 years. He then moved to Hawaii to specialize in tropical growing, where he managed wholesale nursery operations as well as a cacao and coffee farm. Now in Richmond, Jayton is the West Section Lead Horticulturalist at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
