GENWORTH
Free Community Day
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Genworth are pleased to announce Genworth Free Community Day at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2025. All visitors receive free admission from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’re excited to be able to offer a day of relaxation and fun with 50 acres of gardens, beautiful flowers, and shaded woodland paths
The universally-accessible Klaus Family Tree House will be open for all to enjoy, as will Waterway splash pad in the Children’s Garden. Visitors can also explore our outdoor art exhibition, Homes & Habitats, with installations located throughout iconic areas of the Garden.
GRTC will have a free bus stopping at the Garden throughout the day, and the destination sign will read “Lewis Ginter” so you know exactly which bus to catch. Here’s how it works:
- The first bus leaves the Downtown Transfer Station at 8:00 a.m.
- Buses will come every hour on the Route 1 line, with the Garden added as a special stop!
- The last bus heads out from Virginia Center Commons at 6:00 p.m., stops at the Garden, and then continues south to Downtown.
- See the route and learn more here.
Please note: The Conservatory is currently closed due to our expansion project and will reopen in 2026. Learn more about THRIVE: A Campaign for Communities.
