Our Garden is Growing!
The year 2024 is a big one at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. It’s our 40th anniversary, and we’re expanding our Conservatory and gardens to offer exciting new guest experiences and programming.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Parking is free and there are three parking lots: A, B, and C. The red star on the map marks the Visitor’s Center where you can purchase your ticket. The Garden Shop is also in the Visitor’s Center (no ticket required for the Shop.)
1. Four Seasons Garden
(includes Bragdon Garden)
Walled garden in classic Arts and Crafts design with year-round interest and adjacent accessible daffodil garden. Part of the Central Garden.
2. Healing and Meditation Gardens
A place for spiritual healing and studying medicinal properties of plants. Part of the Central Garden.
3. The Classic Gardens
An elegant example of a classic early twentieth-century Virginia garden. Part of the Central Garden.
4. Fountain Garden
Cooling and refreshing; enjoy this dancing fountain and seasonal display inspired by ancient design. Part of the Central Garden.
5. Conservatory
Classical Palm House, tropical orchid wing and themed floral displays. Learn more about the Conservatory.
6. Louise Cochrane Rose Garden
More than 1,500 stunning roses selected for fragrance, rebloom and disease resistance. Learn more about the Rose Garden.
7. Kroger Community Kitchen Garden and Beehives
(currently inaccessible to the public)
Vegetable garden benefitting food bank; apiary with beehives.
8. Asian Valley
Celebrates sacredness of nature with East Asian plants, rocks and water cascade. Learn more about Asian Valley.
9. West Island Garden
Wetland garden with focus on native species and carnivorous pitcher plants. Learn more about the West Island Garden.
10. Flagler Garden
(includes Woodland Walk)
Winding paths featuring a rich palette of perennials, shrubs, trees and bulbs. Learn more about the Flagler Garden and Woodland Walk.
11. Grace Arents Garden
Elegant Victorian restoration garden based on its original early-1900s design. Learn more about the Grace Arents Garden.
12. Lace House Garden
19th-century hand-carved gazebo offering a quiet resting spot.
13. Wildside Walk
Foot path through a naturalistic area along the lake edge – aquatic fauna.
14. Cherry Tree Walk

15. The Children’s Garden
(includes Klaus Family Tree House and the seasonal Waterway )

16. Lucy Payne Minor Garden
Fantastic view across lake – superb collections of daffodils and flowering shrubs. Part of the Cherry Tree Walk.
17. Margaret Streb Conifer Garden
Dwarf conifers and ornamental grasses highlighting structure, color and texture. Part of the Cherry Tree Walk.
18. Vienna Cobb Anderson Meadow
Hillside meadow attractive to birds & butterflies. Part of the Cherry Tree Walk.
19. Floating Island
Plants helping to cleanse water.
20. Main Garden Walk
