Beginning with Vellum
Small Autumn Objects from Nature

Online class conducted via Zoom

Unlike the stark white of paper, vellum has a warm color ranging from pale off-white to a rich honey. Additionally, the surface variation present in vellum results in a uniquely textured finished product. Learn basic tips and techniques for painting on vellum, starting with simple exercises on small scraps. Margaret discusses how paint and vellum work together and demonstrates how to build color and form. Explore simple drawings on vellum. This is ideal for botanical artists wanting an introduction to vellum or those wanting a refresher course in painting on this unique medium.
