Richmond-based painter Terrie Powers presents Current, a series of luminous works inspired by the interconnectedness of nature and the quiet rhythms of the natural world. Working from her wooded studio in Bon Air, Virginia, Powers creates paintings that explore movement, light, texture, and presence, inviting viewers into contemplative spaces where water, sky, trees, and stone feel deeply connected. Combining painting with graphite, charcoal, and pastel drawing, her layered process captures both the physical beauty and spiritual resonance of the environment.

With a career spanning more than four decades, Powers has exhibited widely in Virginia and New York, with work held in major public and private collections including VCU Health and the Children’s Hospital of Richmond. A recipient of Richmond’s Woman in the Arts Award, she continues to expand an evolving body of work rooted in observation, intuition, and a lifelong dedication to painting.
