Explore mindfulness as a strategy to manage stress in the busy holiday season. Mindfulness is the ability to have judgment-free awareness as events unfold moment by moment. Mindfulness is also something we naturally possess, however when practiced daily or even consistently, our ability to move mindfully is more readily available and accessible. This course is both theoretical and experiential. Students learn about and discuss the origins of mindfulness practices; engage in the natural and traditional movements supporting the mind-body component of mindfulness; and be supported in the development of their personal mindfulness practice as a tool for stress management and self-awareness.
