In the depths of winter, the skeleton of a tree appears in the Robins Library: it’s a new Poet-Tree! We invite you to compose original poems on paper leaves and attach them to the Poet-Tree. With your help, it will grow and flourish as winter gives way to spring.

Nature Poetry

Poet-Tree for Families
10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Storytime: Children and their adults are invited to join us for a poetry-based storytime and activity in the Library.
Nature, Poetry, and Me: Children ages 8-11 and their adults are invited to join poet and Garden staff member Lynda Perry for a poetry workshop in the Library Reading Room. Be prepared to find inspiration outside (dress warmly)!

Adult Poetry Workshop
1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Join members of River City Poets in the Library for an adult writing workshop open to all writing experience levels, focused on the theme of “new beginnings.” Afterward, all workshop participants and Poet-Tree contributors are invited to experience the thrill of reading their work in the fiercely green Conservatory.
