Botany for
Floral Designers

Current and aspiring floral designers can delve into the life of flowering plants to understand how they grow and their botanical characteristics in Botany for Floral Designers.  Understanding the structure of plants and the functions of their various parts will help you choose materials for arrangements that are appropriate to the design’s needs. Botanist Jill Spear introduces ways to understand the external structure of plants, how they are grouped in scientific classification, and the characteristics of various families of plants.   Use microscopes to dissect flowers and fruits to examine their structure.
