DANCE
WITH THE ALEBRIJES

Frolic in the gardens like mystical creatures through creative dance techniques. Meld your imagination to the Alebrijes, let’s bring these fantastical creatures to life! All movement skill levels welcome. Students are encouraged to wear bright colors, bring a brightly colored hat, scarf, or ribbon and bring a water bottle. Join other imaginative and energetic people in this fun garden experience. Rain Date: September 21, 2026 from 6 – 7 pm.

Fees: Member $22, Non-Member $28.

The experience includes walking among the gardens. Students are encouraged to wear bright colors and bring a brightly colored accessory. Please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing that allows for easy movement. Bring a water bottle to stay refreshed.

About the Instructor

Rie Monique Cherie is a local movement specialist and master instructor offering classes and workshops in the Richmond Area since 1993. Qualifications include BFA in Dance and Choreography, VCU 1993, Master Teacher Cas Overton, Tai Chi, and multiple certifications in Yoga and DNI® (Dynamic Neurocognitive Imagery, a.k.a. The Franklin Method). She now focuses on offering postural and wellness instruction through the Five Elements form of Tai Chi, yoga, and relaxation workshops. Rie has been teaching the Five Elements form and offering various wellness workshops at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden since 2009. She is known for being a dynamic teacher, and students always leave feeling a greater sense of wellbeing.
