FLOWERING SHRUBS
& SMALL TREES

Learn about the different flowering shrubs and trees that do well in the residential landscape in Central Virginia with landscape designer and plant expert Christie Barry. Planting, pruning, watering and sun/shade needs will be discussed. Students will be asked to provide feedback in a sketch or discussion on what shrubs/small trees they could use to improve their landscape. Christie will demonstrate pruning techniques on shrubs and small trees off the beaten path in the Garden, and students will be invited to demonstrate what they learned by practicing pruning in the Garden in the final class.
