Join local Tequila expert and mixologist Beth Dixon in this Alebrijes Exhibit inspired class, focusing on Tequila. Join Beth for an in-depth exploration of the spirit; from plant to production to your glass. Learn how to use Tequila in exciting and different ways – beyond the Margarita in a Paloma, Mexican Firing Squad and Oaxacan Old Fashioned. Come prepared to ask questions, connect with your fellow foodies, and treat your taste buds. As Beth showcases how to create these delicious traditional and modern Mexican cocktails, you’ll learn expert techniques for kicking your mixology up a notch. You’ll also enjoy a glass of each cocktail, finding pairing inspiration with three courses of small plates designed to play perfectly with the drinks’ refreshing, aromatic tasting notes.

Beth Dixon Winter Citrus and Herb CocktailsAbout the Instructor

Beth has been in the restaurant industry since 2001. Her bar career began behind the stick at Can Can in Richmond’s historic Carytown. She has worked behind the bar of many other beloved Richmond restaurants, including Pasture, Comfort, Perch, The Magpie, Heritage and L’Opossum.

Beyond her hands-on bartending experience, Beth has become a respected figure in the Richmond cocktail scene. As the founder of Salt and Acid, she offers consulting, bar staff training, private bartending and mixology education.

In her roles as former President/VP/Treasurer of the Richmond chapter of the United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG), and as a trainer for Safe Bars RVA, Beth continues to advocate for the industry she loves, fostering community and pushing the boundaries of cocktail creativity.
