HERBALISM 101
HERBAL REMEDIES & SOAKS

Join Holistic Wellness Educator Nitika Achalam as she discusses the legacy and history of herbalism traditions passed down from our ancestors and explores garden specimens to reveal their many purposes in this interactive class. Learn to create beneficial tea and a body soak using fresh and dried plants found in many gardens. Receive an explanation of some of the pros and cons of different types of carriers. In this hands-on workshop, together we will formulate an herbal remedy and each participant will be able to take a container home with them. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how to work with local herbs with low risk of adverse effects.  All materials provided.

Nitika Achalam Herbalism 101: Oils, Salves, & TopicalsAbout the instructor

Nitika Achalam is a Holistic Wellness Educator who uses her skills as a Clinical Herbalist, Reiki Master, and Yoga Therapist to inform knowledge sharing. Nitika studied Anthropology at Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus on how ancient cultures used plant medicine and alternative remedies to prevent and treat disease. Nitika passionately applies over two decades of education and practice to support her clients’ physical and energetic wellness. Nitika is a practitioner at A Brighter Birth Collective, and the resident herbalist and farmer at Baehouse.
