Landscapes

Build a miniature landscape to delight your family or young friends. David Pippin and Mimi Cassick show you the tricks to successfully building a believable imaginary landscape. Bring a shallow container of your choosing and sharp floral snips. All floral materials provided.

NOTE: This is an in-person, outdoor, socially-distanced class.  Masks are required for all participants.  Rain date is Sunday, May 16, 1 – 3 pm.

David Pippin Fun St. Patrick's Day DesignGES: FD, 1, elective*

*This class offers 1 hours of elective credit toward the Garden Education Series: Floral Design Certificate.  Non-certificate students permitted.  All levels welcome.

Students bring a flat, shallow, waterproof tray no smaller than 12″ across and no more than 16″ across and sharp floral snips.

 

 

 

 

 

About the instructors

David Pippin’s name is well-known in Richmond’s horticultural world. A sought-after designer of inspired floral arrangements, a provider of garden-themed hands-on programs for children and adults, and an educator with a wide range of horticultural knowledge and experience, David is indeed a “man for all seasons.” He has been featured at the “Fine Arts and Flowers” annual event at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

Floral designer Mimi Cassick has been creating designs for Richmond area clients for more than 30 years. She has taught floral design at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for more than 20 years, and is the primary instructor for the required courses in the Floral Design Certificate (currently on hold).
