Nuts and Bolts
OF FLORAL DESIGN

Join this course after completing Basic Floral Design Part I & II (or other previous floral arranging experience) to continue exploring elements and principles of floral design with instructor, Mimi Cassick. You’ll learn how to plan floral designs or arrangements including how to choose your flowers, how to know how many flowers to buy, and how to create a theme for your floral arrangements. We’ll also explore new trends in floral design, preparing you to create stunning, trendy floral arrangements that impress!

Our Garden continues to follow CDC recommendations and state guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19. Properly worn masks are strongly encouraged for indoor class participants regardless of vaccination status. The Garden reserves the right to implement additional safety measures. Any updates will be communicated prior to class, if possible.

Floral Design Class at Lewis GinterGES: FD, 8, required*

This course takes place over 4 Tuesdays:

  • July 11
  • July 18
  • July 25
  • August 1

Prerequisites: Basic Floral Design Parts 1 and 2 or previous floral design experience. This is an intermediate level course.

*This class is required for students in the Garden Education Series: Floral Design Certificate program. Non-certificate students are welcome.

About the Instructor

Floral designer Mimi Cassick has been creating designs for Richmond area clients for more than 30 years. She has worked independently and with Coleman Brothers Flowers and is currently with Vogue Flowers. She has taught floral design at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for more than 20 years and is the primary instructor for the required courses in the Floral Design Certificate.
