Douglas Reed, FASLA, The Gillette Forum Podcast

by Jonah Holland, PR & Marketing Coordinator, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

Now that you’ve seen some of our reflections from The Gillette Forum, I thought I’d bring you some audio. This is a recording of Douglas Reed, FASLA, of Hilderbrand Reed Landscape Architects, speaking during one of his presentations titled: Treading Lightly on the Land: Case Studies of Reed Hilderbrand’s Projects. Here is some background on Douglas Reed in case you’d like to learn more about him:

Douglas Reed will describe a series of projects that give expression to the firm’s design philosophy, which is rooted in the belief that the designed landscape is one of the most potent forms of cultural expression. These projects demonstrate the intersection of design and sustainability through an economical use of the landscape medium guided by specific aesthetic aims: to pursue clarity of design intent, distill schemes to only what is essential, and to express a sensibility to tread lightly on the land.
