Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
BOTANICAL DRAWING
Event Details
GES: BI, 15, elective*
*This class provides 15 hours of elective credit toward the Botanical Illustration Certificate Program.
Prerequisite: Botanical Drawing III, or Color Mixing, or solid experience with colored pencil and continuous-tone shading techniques. New to these? Contact Stephey Baker —Stephey is happy to talk through whether this class is the right fit.
Students are responsible for bringing all materials listed on the supply list. The instructor will provide live specimens and shared studio materials.
Expect a relaxed, experimental, inquiry-based studio — space to explore your own artistic voice as you continue to deepen it. A pre-class study page exercise gets your pencil miles back up before session one; details in the supply list.
This class is designed to be taken more than once: each offering rotates seasonal subjects and media emphasis.
This class takes place over 3 Thursdays:
- December 4
- December 11
- December 18

She believes in cultivating a curious spirit and finds joy in teaching others how to easily connect to their artistic side. Stephey lives in Church Hill with her rescued cats and dogs and tends to an urban garden full of life. In her favorite dreams, she can talk to Bumble Bees. Learn more at markedbythemuse.com
