Cukes are up and coming along nicely in the Lewis Ginter Community Kitchen Garden, aiming for a late September harvest. I saw an adorable little white moth flitting about. It’s likely to forecast cabbage worms. I tried to use the brute force organic method of control, but the adorable creature was too quick for me.
The Amaranth saga is over – for now, with our Palmer Amaranth toppled by a preemptive strike with the loppers, and now headed for the compost heap.

Marketmore 76 cucumbers are supposed to be disease resistant and good producers. Let's hope the plants will be resistant to squash bugs and cabbage loopers.
