Enjoy Lewis Ginter's Lotus Blooming Time Lapse Movie

by Jonah Holland, PR & Marketing Coordinator, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

Richmond Time Lapse, recently filmed this amazing time lapse movie, right here at Lewis Ginter! Time lapse is such a great tool because it shows progress over time — but in a very quick way.

Our Lotus Blooming movie, was filmed over about a week at the end of June. As the movie shows, we even shot through rain and wind. if you pay very close attention (or watch it a few times), you can even see a duck flash on the left side of the screen and you can see the set up and take down of the Groovin’ in the Garden performance and tent set up.

Two more things I should tell you before you watch. First, lotus are an invasive species of plants so you should be very careful where you plant them. And second, while we still have a few lotus blooms left in the Garden, and you can still catch them blooming, the main batch has already bloomed, and the next time to catch the full display will be mid-June next year.
