Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights is a holiday tradition featuring more than one million lights, botanical decorations, trains, holiday activities & more.  To learn more details about Lewis Ginter lights, this year’s theme and tips for your visit, see our main Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights page.   The event runs Friday, November 20, 2020 – January 4, 2021  (Closed Thanksgiving, Dec. 24 & 25).

Ticket Pricing

$14 Adults
$11 Seniors
$8 Children (ages 3 – 12)
Free for children under age 3
$7: Garden members
$5: Youth on Garden Membership (ages 3 – 18)

Museums for All
Adults (18 and older)    $1
Youth (17 and under)   Free (up to six per family)

You can purchase Snowflake Holiday Specs Fun Glasses online with your online tickets. These special glasses with holographic lenses magically transform the lights into snowflakes. You pick up the specs when your tickets are scanned; cost to order specs online includes a convenience fee.

Member Nights (free admission for members) are all nights in November and January. Garden Members can visit Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights for free any night November 20-30, 2020 and January 1-4, 2021. Learn more about Garden Membership and member privileges, including special ticket pricing (it may be your best deal). 

Tickets are not date-specific and may be purchased at the Garden (9 a.m. – 10 p.m.) or you may purchase tickets online.  Please note tickets ordered online have a convenience fee.

We will have a Pre-Purchased Ticket entry on select nights for people who have tickets on their phone or in hand for all in their party. This entry will be on nights with anticipated high visitation (Fridays, Saturdays and the week prior to Dec. 25). Our goal is to get you into the Garden as efficiently as possible so you can enjoy the show.

GardenFest of Lights is a “rain or shine” event and is only closed for extreme inclement weather.

Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights Illumination Weekend — Experience “Magic in the Air” November 22-23, 2019. Enjoy live music, family fun crafts, and other activities that will make your imagination soar, all weekend long!

Free Member NightsNovember 20-30, 2020 and January 1-4, 2021

Plus, select Member Nights feature informal guided tours of our historic Bloemendaal House,  with Victorian-style and botanical decorations, from 5 – 8:30 p.m. Plus enjoy live music on select nights at Bloemendaal House from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Food Drive

On Member Nights (each night in November and January) & at New Year’s Eve Family Frolic (Dec. 31) we are partnering with Kroger to collect nonperishable goods for our friends at Feed More. Look for two cardboard boxes for donations in the Robins Visitor Center on these select nights.

Merry Mondays
5 – 8 p.m.
Location: Library Reading Room; Santa “sightings” in the Conservatory on Mondays (through Dec. 21.) Storytime fireside with the Garden Keeper.

Caroling Tuesdays “Four in the Morning” strolls the Garden with musical medleys.
6 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Throughout the Garden

On Crafty Wednesdays families can participate in interactive art-making, creating projects based on displays from this year’s theme.  5-8 p.m. in the Kelly Education Center, Classroom 1 (across from the TowneBank Holiday Trains).

Musical Thursdays
6 p.m. & 7 p.m.
Location: Lora Robins Library
Acoustic musicians perform festive entertainment.  Learn more.


Come toast s’mores (for purchase) and warm up at the Kelleher Warming Fire.
