The daffodils are starting to bloom all over the Garden.  For me one of my favorite things is to find a new type of daffodil every time I turn around. According to the American Daffodil Society there are between 40 and 200 different species, subspecies or varieties of species — and over 25,000 registered cultivars (named hybrids). That’s a lot of daffs!  It also explains why I have trouble keeping track of them all.  This one is  Narcissus  ‘Cum Laude’ from Brent & Becky’s Bulbs, a company from Gloucester, Virginia,  who specialize in daffodils and unusual bulbs.

  • This is my favorite narcissus (I know, so hard to choose!) I order more and more of them each year from Brent and Becky’s. They have all my favorite attributes: split cup, pink/peach colored cup, creamy petals! Plus, like all daffodils, the army of voles in my yard hate them!
