Celebration of Life for Jonah Holland

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is honored to be the location of a Celebration of Life for Jonah Holland on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at 10 a.m. Jonah was the Digital Content Manager at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for 14 years. While cycling, she was fatally struck by a motorist. Our hearts go out to her family and friends; Jonah will be dearly missed by our Garden family and the community.

A Celebration of Life for Jonah Holland is on Oct. 2, 2022

Jonah’s family shares the following:

“The wave may be caught in the idea that ‘I am here now and I won’t be here later.’ And the wave may feel afraid or even angry. But the wave also has her ocean body. She has come from the ocean, and she will go back to the ocean. She has both her wave body and her ocean body. She is not only a wave; she is also the ocean.”
– Thict Nhat Hanh

Jonah Holland loved fiercely and valued kindness as a spiritual practice. Because of her deep affinity for the ocean and the wonder and healing presence of nature, this quote from Thict Nhat Hanh, whose mission was to bring healing to the world, resonated with her.

Jonah will be dearly missed by our community, our friends, our family. With the generous assistance of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, we offer you the opportunity to heal by coming together to honor her legacy. Please join us:
